Concorde Education Services collaborates with education professionals to improve the teaching of English.
Shirley Finlayter, Director
Shirley worked for the British Council as a teacher trainer and project manager prior to founding Concorde Education Services.
Shirley is a registered Prince2 practitioner in project management and a volunteer mentor for Project Managers Against Poverty. She is also a member of several professional associations:
- International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL)
- National Association for Teaching English and Other Community Languages to Adults (NATECLA)
- Association of Project Management (APM)
- Association of MBA’s (AMBA)
She has a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching (ELT), a Trinity Diploma in ELT and is currently studying for her MBA.
During her 20 years’ experience in the English language teaching industry, Shirley has lived and taught in Latin America, the Middle East & North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and the United Kingdom.
Stephanie Delaney, Child Protection and Safeguarding Consultant
Stephanie Delaney is a social worker (MSW) and has a masters’ degree in International Child Welfare.
Originally from the UK, Stephanie has worked overseas for the past 15 years with a range of organisations including UNICEF, British Council, major International Non-Government Organisations. such as Plan International and Terre des hommes, and various Government Departments. She has extensive experience in child protection on a range of issues such as the commercial sexual exploitation of children and trafficking.
In addition to supporting the development of safeguarding policies and procedures (relevant to operating contexts, for example reflecting cultural practices) and monitoring the implementation of these, Stephanie has worked with local child protection agencies and law enforcement regarding safeguarding concerns and the investigation of child protection incidents.
Stephanie is based in Bangkok and has experience predominantly across Asia, the Middle East and the Balkans. She also has worked in Sub Saharan Africa.
Bethany Witcomb, Education & Development Coordinator
Bethany is currently in her final year at The University of Sussex studying BA English Language and Literature, predicted to graduate with an Upper-Second-Class degree in the summer of 2019.
Prior to joining Concorde Education Services, Bethany had gained work experience with a Public Relations firm. Upon graduating and completing arranged secondary school placements, Bethany plans to complete a PGCE in Secondary School English the following academic year.
